FISHING CLUB ANNOUNCES $300 FALL TOURNAMENT
Get those rods, reels and tackle box ready as the popular George Hudson Memorial Fall Fishing
Tournament is coming soon!
Aptly
named for one of Long Lake’s most successful anglers,
this tournament gives prizes for the total inches of the largest of each
of six species caught during the two-day event. George Hudson was a
Milwaukee native but spent much of his time at his cottage and on the
waters at Long Lake.
The
2-day tournament will be held from 6 a.m. to noon, Sat., Sept. 27 and
Sun., Sept. 28. Rules include:
Anglers must fish from a boat; two anglers per
boat maximum
Fish eligible in 6 categories are northern,
walleye, bass, perch, crappie, and bluegill
The longest fish per species score points, one
point per inch
Registration fee: $10 per entrant
Fish
must be registered at Benson’s Hideaway by noon each day of the
tournament. The total accumulation of points qualifies for prize money.
The six anglers scoring the most points will be awarded prize money
totaling $300.
This is
a Long Lake Fishing Club member-only tournament. It is easy to become a
member by including your $10 per family annual membership along with
your tournament registration and fee. This new membership will run
through the 2009 calendar year.
Registration forms are available and may be dropped off at Benson’s
Hideaway on the north end of Long Lake (Boy Scout Dr. off of Hwy.
67, Din’s Mini-Mart in Dundee, and Benson’s Campground, Hwy. 67. Forms
may also be sent to P.O. Box 303, Campbellsport, WI 53010. Late “day of”
registrations will be accepted at Benson’s Hideaway by noon each day of
the tournament, Sat., Sept. 27th and Sun., Sept. 28th.
