Something new to Dundee Daze 2009 Saturday, July
11th was a walk/run beginning and ending at the
picnic at Sportsman’s Park. Originally designed to
attract people to the picnic, it became an event
within an event and an important fund-raiser for the Wisconsin
Parkinson’s Association.
Knowing the search was on for a “cause,”
inspiration for choosing Parkinson Disease as the
recipient of funds raised began with a suggestion
from Mike Nummerdor. He cited Kenny Schneider as
not only a well-known community member, but also
as someone dealing with the disease. Marilyn
Edwards, organizer of the walk/run, met with
Kenny, gained his approval and support, along with
that from Jerry Leiterman, Superintendent of the
Northern Kettle Moraine State Forest, and things
took off from there.
