The Long Lake Fishing Club’s annual Snow Golf event was held on
January 30th on Tittle Lake. The greens keepers had the course
ready by the first tee time at 9 a.m.
With the temperature in the twenties, light winds, sunny skies
and the lack of snow, the slippery course was setup for low
scores. The winning team score this year was thirty-nine strokes
less than last year. The winning woman’s score was thirteen
stokes less and the winning man’s score was four strokes less
than last year.
Over one hundred and twenty golfers hit the links; including a
couple of cadets coming up from Illinois. Some had a little
difficulty keeping their footing. A first this year was a young
woman on skates who used her golf club like a hockey stick.
As in years past one dollar from every golfers entry was donated
to local nonprofit organization. This year, $124 was donated to
the Long Lake Youth Association.
Thanks to all the volunteers, supporters and participants. Hope
to see you next year!
